About Me

Ewa Sokola-Wysoczanska is a distinguished cardiologist, scientist, and entrepreneur. She is best known for pioneering work establishing the correct balance of fatty acids in the body. She also founded the internationally recognized Lumina Cordis Clinic in Wrocław, Poland.

Sokola specializes in cardiovascular echocardiography and cardiac intensive care. She holds medical degrees from both the Wrocław Medical Academy and the University of Perugia — and an additional PhD from the Medical University in Wrocław. Her practice evolved via institutions in Italy, Poland and the United States, a career of advancing patient care through research and clinical innovation.

As founder and head cardiologist of Poland’s Lumina Cordis Clinic, Sokola focuses on the treatment of complex cardiovascular conditions with a patient-centered holistic approach that is the polar opposite of the conveyor-belt approach of other corporate-chain-owned facilities - where patients get a mere 10 or 15 minutes of a doctor’s time and are rushed out the door. Conditions in which she has special expertise include arrhythmia, congestive heart failure, ischemic heart disease, congenital heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, and arterial hypertension. Apart from her native Polish, Sokola is fluent in Italian and English with a working knowledge of Russian and a basic command of German and Spanish.

Sokola's research trajectory evolved from neurodegenerative diseases to cardiological pathologies, with a particular emphasis on conditions caused by low-grade systemic inflammation (LGSI), where achieving the proper balance between Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids in the cell membranes plays a crucial role in getting health on track.

Sokola is a scientist and researcher in the field of biology and lipid biotechnology whose trailblazing contributions in the development of bio-esters of Omega-3, 6, and 9 ALA derived from linseed oil secured her and her team a gold medal at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva in 2014 and many other awards. Beyond cardiovascular health; she has spearheaded extensive pre-clinical research into targeted BIO preparations based on ethyl esters of ALA; this research specifically interrogates their efficacy in the secondary prevention of cancer.

Sokola has a particular passion for the biophysics and biochemistry of membrane lipids; she views phospholipid bilayers not as passive barriers but as dynamic orchestrators of every living process on Earth. Her work is rooted in the conviction that optimal membrane lipid architecture, governed by polyunsaturated fatty acid balance, represents the quiet foundation of cellular function, organismal well-being, and governs very span of life itself.

"Health is a state of psycho-physical well-being. While we may never reach a perfect 100%, striving towards this goal enhances our overall functioning and quality of life. As a physician, my mission is to empower my patients to reach the fullest potential of their bodies and minds. Embracing the Ancient Greek philosophy of 'Panta Rhei' – everything flows – we must recognize that change is constant and part of our journey towards wellness."

Ewa Sokola is the sister of Kaja Sokola, psychotherapist and former model. The relationship gained public notice during the 2025 New York retrial of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. Ewa Sokola’s testimony about her sister’s 2006 meeting with Weinstein and provision of Kaja’s diary to the defense was widely viewed as exculpatory evidence, and Weinstein was acquitted on the single charge relating to sister Kaja. In March, 2026, Ewa sued Kaja alleging defamation, citing multiple public statements Kaja made after the trial.

Ewa Sokola testifies as a key prosecution witness in Harvey Weinstein’s Manhattan retrial. She confirms the May, 2006 hotel meeting; recalls Kaja and Weinstein going upstairs together for 30-60 minutes; and describes her sister returning under 'extreme tension' even though the two then continued the day as if it nothing out of the ordinary had occurred. Before 2017, Kaja was 'proud of knowing [Weinstein],' Ewa noted in her testimony.
